First day packrafting courses offer opportunities for half the day to become familiar with the packraft and its abilities in a semi-controlled environment (slow moving water, lake or pond). Second Half and first day is spent on the river discussing safety, river features, hazards, route finding, proper boat maneuvering and rescue scenarios.  The day is designed to give novice and intermediate boaters alike the chance to learn and practice new and old skills, and of course have fun on the water.

Second day will provide more opportunities to use the skills learned the previous day and adapt them to more moving water. We spend the whole day on the river, reviewing safety, reading river currents (features) and properly using your paddle to manipulate your packraft in the direction desired, and have another great day on the river.
